Sadie Sink may already know a thing or two about bringing Marvel’s mutants to life.
However, when it comes to who could be joining her in the upcoming X-Men movie, even she appears to be in the dark.
The actress, whose mysterious Marvel Cinematic Universe character was recently confirmed to be Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, was asked about the latest casting buzz surrounding the highly anticipated Marvel reboot.
In particular, attention turned to reports that Heartstopperstar Kit Connor had read for the role of Cyclops, Jean’s longtime love interest in the comics.
The Stranger Things alum revealed that she has been kept “a little bit separate” from the casting process for her future X-Men co-stars.
Apparently, not even Jean Grey can read Marvel’s mind.
“So, I’m finding out through Jake,” Sink told Vanity Fair, referring to director Jake Schreier. “There’s also so many online rumours, but it’s coming together.”
The 24-year-old, who kept her MCU debut role a top secret till the film’s premiere, implied that she is finding out about potential additions much like everyone else.
When Connor’s name was specifically brought up, she didn’t exactly confirm or deny the speculation. “Did he? There’s always the rumours, and I just never know what’s official,” the Dear Zoe actress said.
Her coy response only adds another layer of mystery to Marvel’s carefully guarded X-Men casting plans as fans eagerly await the reveal of the actors who will join the new era of the mutant franchise.
