The royal family is growing as a new statement from the official court revealed delightful news.
After King Charles became a great uncle to Princess Eugenie’s daughter two weeks ago, it was announced on Friday that Jordan’s Princess Iman has welcomed twins on Friday.
“The Royal Hashemite Court is pleased to announce that Her Royal Highness Princess Iman bint Abdullah II and Mr Jameel Alexander Thermiotis were blessed, on 14 August 2026, with twin baby girls,” the statement on the court’s official site read.
“Hashemite Court extends its sincere congratulations and best wishes to Princess Iman and Mr Jameel, as well as to Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein and Queen Rania Al Abdullah on this happy occasion.”
Princess Iman had kept the pregnancy private. It was the Queen who had shared the news about her daughter. However, she did not reveal that Iman would be welcoming twins, that detail had been kept as a surprise until the official birth announcement.
Even though the new additions to the family are immediate family of the monarch, they are not included in the line of succession. According to the Jordanian royal rule, only male heirs are included in the line of succession.
