Taylor Swifts music publication wages war against AI after unprompted use
Taylor Swift’s music publication wages war against AI after unprompted use

In an ever-accelerating technologically forward world, art runs the biggest risk of losing its long-held importance in culture, and we’re already seeing its affects on the music industry.

Taylor Swift’s publishers Sony Publishing recently sued Claude AI for using the pop superstar’s music, along with Michael Jackson and The Beatles’ to train its models.

The music was not licensed and used without the Grammy winner or the ’90s music icons, or their labels being informed.

The company faces a multibillion dollar lawsuit for “blatant theft” of music.

The news quickly became a talking point for social media and music enthusiasts came together to discuss, with one writing, “yeah the music industry is finally waking up to AI scraping, tbh it was only a matter of time.”

Another added, “taylor swift lawyers are not the ones you want to fight in a copyright case, anthropic picked the final boss.”

A third chimed in, “copyright is becoming AI’s biggest legal battlefield,” and “GET THEM,” wrote one.
