Kelly Osbourne has restarted her sobriety journey after the grief of her dad Ozzy Osbourne’s death made her fall off the wagon.
Appearing on Paul C. Brunson’s We Need to Talk podcast on Tuesday, September 15, the reality star admitted she began drinking again after the rock legend’s death in July 2025.
“I can honestly say, today I’m eight months sober,” Kelly, 41, revealed. “I have the most incredible people around me. I closed my circle because I lost a lot of friends. People don’t like sadness, and they expected me to be over it. And I will never be over it. I will never, ever be over it.”
Kelly, who Ozzy shared with his wife Sharon Osbourne, has been open about her struggles with addiction, which began at just 13 years old when she was prescribed an opioid medication after undergoing surgery.
She previously told Red Table Talk, “I went from having every voice in my head being like, ‘You’re fat, you’re ugly, you’re not good enough, no one likes you, you don’t deserve this, people only like you because of who your parents are.’ And then all of a sudden, every single voice was silenced and it felt like life gave me a hug.”
Her sobriety journey has understandably been difficult, and she previously relapsed in 2021 after four years of sobriety.
Then, when her father passed away at age 76 following a long battle with Parkinson’s disease, Kelly told Brunson, “I lost my mind.”
She continued, “I was a shell of myself. I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t eat. I couldn’t do anything. I was just empty, broken in every way a human being could possibly be broken, and completely unable to take care of myself.”
Kelly also got candid about her “scary” weight loss following the tragedy, admitting she was blinded by what “other people saw.”
