Taylor Swift has unveiled four new song titles, and fans are already digging for clues about what they mean.
The Anti-Hero hitmaker, 36, announced The Life of a Showgirl: The Encoreon Wednesday, September 23.
The expanded version of her latest album will feature four previously unreleased tracks: Patient Zero, Cleveland!, Pink Clouding and Babylon.
Swift revealed that she reunited with producers Max Martin and Shellback in Sweden following the album’s record-breaking first week.
“Really we just wanted to reflect and take in how grateful we were for the moment we were in, but there was a studio there and we did what we do when we feel anything at all: We wrote more songs,” she explained.
She added that the tracks “were born out of pure gratitude” for the overwhelming response.
The titles have already sparked plenty of speculation.
Patient Zero has been teased through apparent clues, including a sign in the Opalite music video and changes to Swift’s social media bio.
A 2024 Los Angeles Times column about Swift and Travis Kelce also described her as “patient zero for emotional contagion.”
Cleveland!has fueled theories about Kelce, who grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Swift has also performed in the city before.
Pink Clouding has a variety of possible meanings, while Babylon appears to echo her earlier references to the Gardens of Babylon in “cowboy like me” and Gracie Abrams’ “us.”
Swift has yet to confirm the meaning behind any of the titles.
