Obsession continues to shock fans after the record-breaking run at the box office this Summer, as the movie enters the award season.
The 27-year-old filmmaker Curry Barker has now submitted the horror movie at the Golden Globes, however, what left fans shocked was the fact that it has been submitted under the Musical or Comedy categories.
The movie, owing to its subject matter, left viewers disturbed so the choice of the genre sparked backlash on social media.

Flocking together to raise questions about the choice, fans wrote, “The most uncomfortable movie I’ve ever seen and it’s a comedy?”
Another added, “musical? comedy???,” while one asked, “what was funny about this movie?”
More chimed in, “Comedy? Musical? Yeah cause the horror movie about a girl losing her autonomy is the same genre as The Sound of Music…,” and “I don’t recall laughing or anybody bursting into song.”
While fans continue to critique the move, the film’s creators have not addressed the situation as of yet.
