Role Model revealed Gracie Abrams’ tour invitation changed his life.
During his recent guest appearance at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the American singer-songwriter, whose real name is Tucker Harrington Pillsbury, shared that opening for the Riskhitmaker was a career-changing moment for him.
“I think my album had not come out yet, and I don’t think I had started my rollout,” he recalled the time when he received a phone call from Abrams, who invited him to join her on tour as an opening act.
“She was looking for openers, and I think someone at the label sent her some of the early music,” the hello! singer explained how the opportunity provided him a major platform early in his musical journey.
According to him, the Grammy-nominated artist decided to bring him along for her tour after hearing his unreleased material that helped take his music to the next level.
“She liked it, and she invited me on tour, and it was an instant yes,” he told Jimmy Fallon. “And it went on to, like, change the trajectory of my career.”
The Rxartist even gave a playful bowing gesture while seated, showing his appreciation for her support.
Fallon quickly joined in, agreeing with the sentiment: “Yeah, we love Gracie Abrams.”
For the unversed, Role Model first opened for Abrams during her The Secret of Us tour, which began in September 2024.
He continued supporting her across various legs into 2025, though he later had to step back from several dates due to film scheduling conflicts.
The tour opportunity came as the New England-born musician released his second studio album, Kansas Anymore, on July 19, 2024, just two months before hopping on tour.
Coincidentally, his third studio album, Chuck Timely & The Hourglass, just dropped on August 7.
