Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has invited American business leaders and the business community to explore investment opportunities in his country.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan embassy in Washington DC, the envoy held separate meetings with business leaders, investors and corporate representatives and invited them to explore investment opportunities across diverse sectors such as the digital economy and banking services, special projects financing, agricultural technology and aviation.
During his meeting with a delegation of business leaders hailing from Sacramento — the capital of California state, Sheikh briefed them about investment opportunities in Pakistan.
He also met California State Treasurer Fiona Ma and discussed ways to further strengthen historical and economic ties between Pakistan and California.
The envoy said that promoting economic, trade and educational ties between Pakistan and California is the government’s top priority.
In his meeting with Dr Alfred Cheung, founder of California’s Northern State University, the two sides discussed joint initiatives in health, medical research and technology.
Meanwhile, the envoy visited DosePacker, a leading pharmaceutical and pharmacy solutions company. He lauded the company’s advanced laboratory technology and urged the firm to benefit from Pakistan’s skilled workforce and competitive production capacity.
He also met the Pakistani-American community in Sacramento and lauded their role in promoting Pakistan-US relations.
“The Pakistani-American community is an important bridge between the two countries,” the envoy added.
