RM’s sweet gesture goes hilariously wrong after he throws a ball towards a fan but it hits her instead.
During BTS’ second Chicago stop on the ARIRANG World Tour on Friday, August 28, Namjoon spotted a fan holding up a sign and decided to send a football her way.
The BTS leader was trying to make the attendee’s day at Chicago soundcheck however, the surprise took an unexpected turn.
According to fan footage circulating online, the fan was still holding her sign when RM threw the ball toward her.
The sudden move left her confused, leaving her unable to drop the sign and properly catch the ball. As a result, the football ended up hitting her in the head.
RM appeared to immediately check on her after realising what had happened, turning an awkward mishap into a surprisingly sweet moment.
And despite the unfortunate catch, the fan still got to keep the football, turning the accidental collision into a very memorable BTS souvenir.
She later appeared with a new sign that read, “Namjoon feel free to shoot your shot again anytime,” while wearing an “I [red heart emoji] RM” shirt, making it clear there were no hard feelings.
Fans quickly embraced the funny moment, with many amused by RM’s well-intentioned but slightly chaotic attempt at fan interaction. Others, meanwhile, praised him for checking on the fan right away.
