Lady Louise Windsor and her boyfriend Felix da Silva-Clamp are quietly carving out a very different kind of royal romance.
At 22, Louise and Felix might be young, but their relationship has an unexpectedly old-fashioned feel.
While other young couples might be drawn to late nights and crowded clubs, the pair appear just as happy dressing up for the theatre.
Their low-key courtship has even drawn comparisons to the early relationship of the late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
Louise reportedly met Felix while they were both studying at the University of St Andrews.
According to royal author Robert Jobson, the pair became friends after being cast together in a student production at the Byre Theatre.
Their friendship gradually developed into something more, with the couple first linked in 2024 and believed to have been together since June 2025.
For months, Felix remained almost invisible from the royal spotlight.
He was often described simply as Louise’s ‘pal’ by royal watchers, with the couple making little effort to draw attention to their relationship.
Felix joined Louise and her parents, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, at a performance of the Zulu ballet Inala during the Edinburgh International Festival, where he was seen chatting warmly with members of the cast.
He has also become a familiar face at Louise’s carriage-driving competitions.
At the Ashfields event in Essex, Jobson said spectators watched Felix ‘punch the air’ as Louise came through the water.
The author described the moment as anything but glamorous, writing that there was ‘nothing royal about him’ – just a young man in love, standing in a wet Essex field and cheering for his girlfriend.
There is little showmanship about their courtship, with their shared interests and quiet support for one another taking centre stage.
