King Charles and Queen Camilla appeared in high spirits as they marked a historic event just at the heels of a personal milestone taking place in the royal family.
Even though there is still some friction between the royals and the Sussexes, the monarch understood to have welcomed Harry and Meghan’s move with a positive attitude. The doting grandfather reportedly is excited to have his two grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, close by.
On Wednesday, the monarch and his wife were reunited by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron and Mrs Brigitte Macron following their State Visit in July last year. Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Ms Marie-France Van-Heel had also joined to view the Bayeux Tapestry Exhibition.
In the video shared by Buckingham Palace, the monarch seemed in high spirits, just at the heels of Archie and Lilibet starting school soon.
“Celebrating the Bayeux Tapestry, now on show at the British Museum,” the message read. “Thank you for the historic loan, France – and for the latest magical stitch in a story that has bound our two nations together through history.”
The King appeared healthy and happier than usual during the engagement. It is plausible that things may have been less stressful in the family and maybe having his grandchildren nearby has cheered up the old soul.
