The much-hyped NFL Halftime show at historic Melbourne game sparked debate among fans, with many expressing disappointment over the Jonas Brothers’s performance.
The NFL debut season opener outside the U.S. was played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams.
The NFL, after striking a deal with the Jonas Brothers, brought them all all the way from the United States to perform in front of the Aussie crowd that filled the house at the MCG.
While some NFL fans enjoyed the performance by Jonas Brothers in Melbourne, there were many who flooded social media with complaints.
“I went to turn on footballs on Netflix and it’s the Jonas brothers. I am confused,” one fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“The Jonas Brothers kinds rip man idc what anyone says,” commented by another.
“Jonas Brothers still sound perfect and they have aged the same,” commented NFL reporter Jane Slater.
The trio wore coordinated black bomber jackets and sent the Aussie crowd into a frenzy before they performed the track, along with a cover of Aussie music legend John Farnham’s You’re The Voice.
Then followed by their hitmaker Burnin’ Up.
Then the trio, made up of brothers Joe, Kevin, and Nick, performed Sucker before getting into their latest track, Play This When Sad.
After they started performing their version of The Voice, the trio took the audience back in time by performing their version of Year 3000, the first single that gave them commercial success.
Who will headline NFL’s Super Bowl LXI halftime show?
Though the NFL has kept its plans under wraps and has not announced a halftime performer for the next Super Bowl, multiple reports suggest Miley Cyrus might headline the show.
Super Bowl LXI is scheduled for February 14, 2027.
