Kevin Hart says the secret to keeping things fun with wife Eniko after 10 years of marriage comes down to one simple habit: listening.
Speaking with PEOPLEat Five Iron Golf in New York City on Wednesday, September 16, where he celebrated the launch of his new golf-inspired Fabletics collection, Hart, 47, put it plainly, “Keeping your relationship fun? Listening. Listening. And I just mean me listening, me listening, me listening more. Happy wife, happy life.”
Eniko helped bring the collection to life alongside him, and the two also star together in a digital short for the campaign, playfully tied to the line’s “Hart-On” logo and its “Get Your Hart-On” branding.
Hart shared that Eniko has caught the golf bug herself lately, mimicking her sudden enthusiasm for the sport, “She’s doing the lessons. She’s taking lessons now. She’s on her own. ‘Oh my God, babe. I want to learn how to swing a club. I’m going to take lessons.'”
The two married on August 13, 2016, and recently celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary with a sweet tribute on Instagram.
Hart also opened up about what initially drew him to golf, describing it as a sport that demands total commitment in a way he personally responds to.
“I don’t know how to do anything halfway,” he said.
“So it’s all or nothing for me. Of course, doing it and being really bad at it is frustrating because it seems so simple, but yet so hard. But it’s not a game that you can phone it in on.”
He said the sport’s difficulty is part of its appeal.
“So to get good, you got to put in the hours, you got to put in the work, and people ultimately respect it. When you see somebody with a good swing, you know that time, energy and effort was put into that, and there’s also a nice little mental game that’s being played as well.”
