Adam Ramsay-Peaty has shared his future plans, saying he wants to ‘get lost in being a husband and father’ with his pregnant wife, Holly.
For the unversed, the couple are preparing to welcome a baby girl together.
The three-time Olympic swimming champion, used his full name, Adam Ramsay-Peaty, for the first time at a major championship.
Adam was left disappointed after failing to win gold in both the 100m and 50m breaststroke finals.
Adam was supported by his wife Holly at this year’s games in Glasgow, and in an interview on Thursday, he shared how he hopes to find a balance between fatherhood, and preparations for the Los Angeles Olympics in two years time.
Asked how he plans to juggle a lack of sleep from fatherhood with his training regime, Adam said: ‘Well thankfully I’ve got an incredible wife and an incredible support circle around me.’
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, he added: ‘Yes I mean, when you have children they do take a lot of work in the sense of a lot of energy, you’re gonna miss a lot of sleep, but I think we’ve also got to look at the other side of things.
‘What an incredible gift and an incredible blessing and I know these next two years we will get the formula, we may not find it instantly, and I don’t want to get lost in just being an athlete, I do want to get lost in being a father and being a husband and that is OK.
‘That we can’t be 110 per cent every single day. But what we can do is give our time, give our energy, give our love, and that will hopefully land us in a very good place.’
Adam finished his Commonwealth Games campaign by helping England win silver in the men’s 4×100 medley relay.
