More than 91,000 Woodure-branded toddler kitchen step stools sold on Amazon have been recalled across the United States after safety officials warned they pose a serious risk of injury and even death to young children.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled kitchen tower stools can collapse or tip over while a child is using them.
Officials also found that a child’s torso can fit through the openings on the front and back of the stool, creating a dangerous entrapment hazard.
So far, Woodure has received 22 reports of the stools becoming unstable or tipping over. At least 15 children have suffered injuries, including scrapes, cuts and bruises.
The recall, announced on July 30, affects about 91,000 Woodure Toddler Kitchen Step Stools sold online between July 2024 and June 2026 for between $60 and $100. The affected products include models WD1720, WD1764 and WD1357.
Parents and caregivers are urged to stop using the recalled stools immediately and keep them away from children.
Instead of a refund, the company is offering a free repair kit that includes stabilizing feet, protective safety nets and installation instructions to address the safety issues.
Consumers can contact Woodure to request the free repair kit before using the product again.
