Ariana Grande’s eternal sunshinetour is nearing its end, which means she’s that much closer to stepping away from the spotlight.
On Thursday, August 6, the pop icon wrapped up the North American leg of her eternal sunshine tour with a final concert at Chicago’s United Center. Addressing the crowd, Grande broke down into tears as she thanked “the best fans in the entire world” for this “wonderful” experience.
“How has this gone by so quickly?” she said through tears. “This has been the most beautiful, joyful, wonderful few months with you all. Thank you all for this incredible experience.”
The Grammy-winner kicked off her eternal sunshine tour on June 6 in Oakland and played 31 shows across the US and Canada. She is now set for a 10-date residency at London’s O2 Arena before the tour officially comes to an end.
Reflecting on the experience so far, Grande, 33, wrote on Instagram, “i cannot believe that this concludes the north american leg of the eternal sunshine tour. i am overwhelmed with love and the deepest gratitude. thank you endlessly for the most special, beautiful, joyful and deeply fulfilling few months… i will cherish every moment of this time with you all & these memories forever. thank you, chicago … london, i cannot wait to see you soon. i love you all more than ever.”
Earlier this week, Grande announced that she will take a much-needed break from the spotlight after her tour concludes, with her rep citing months of public scrutiny about her personal life and weight.
Grande also pulled out of the West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park With George.
