Ariana Grande may have just turned one tiny lyric change into a very big relationship statement.
During the final show of her Eternal Sunshine Tourin London on September 1, the 33-year-old singer appeared to make her feelings about Ricky Alvarez crystal clear — at least through the lyrics of Thank U, Next.
While performing the fan-favorite breakup anthem, Ariana switched up her usual line about her ex for the fourth time during the tour.
Instead of singing, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh,” she delivered a much more telling version: “Wrote some songs about Ricky, I’m tryna make him my last.”
Well, that escalated quickly.
Ariana and Ricky, her former backup dancer, reportedly rekindled their romance in June, around a decade after they first dated.
He has since been joining her on the road as she traveled for the Eternal Sunshine Tour.
And Ariana has been dropping clues through Thank U, Nextfor months.
On June 24 in Austin, she sang, “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now they kinda slap.” The pair were spotted together in the Texas city the following day.
Two days later, she changed it to, “Wrote some songs about Ricky, I know he still got my back.” By July 13 in New York, the lyric became, “Wrote some songs about Ricky, we always find our way back.”
Now comes the “make him my last” line.
Ariana was previously married to Dalton Gomez, with their divorce finalised in 2024. She later dated Wickedco-star Ethan Slater before their relationship ended in June 2026.
Grande and Alvarez have also reportedly gotten matching tattoos.
So, is Ariana turning “Thank U, Next” into “Thank U, Forever?” Fans are certainly listening.
