Bengals star WR Ja’Marr Chase provided an update on the injury scare that cut his practice short on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Chase suffered a left knee injury during practice session while trying to catch a deep pass down along the right sideline.
After a brief pause, the Bengals star got back to his feet and walked off on his own.
Chase was examined by Bengals’ head of athletic trainer Matt Summers before he returned to the sideline to watch the rest of practice with his teammates
The two-time Pro receiver Chase commented on his injury scare that cut his practice short, saying, “He’s fine.”
“I was trying to go practice today. I was trying to get back in, y’ll. I promise,” Chase added.
The Bengals kept their starters sidelined for the second preseason game, a win over the Chicago Bears.
The Bengals have enjoyed a mostly injury-free training camp, as safety Bryan Cook and cornerback Dax Hill are in the recovery phase from minor muscle and ligament injuries.
Chase has been a prolific member of the Cincinnati Bengals since he was drafted as the No. 5 pick in 2021.
He’s been a Pro Bowler every single year of his NFL career, grabbed the receiving triple crown in 2024—leading the league in yards, catches, and TDs—and has earned back-to-back All-Pro honours.
Chase inked a four-year contract extension valued at $161 million before the 2025 season.
The Cincinnati has left only one game in the NFL preseason that is scheduled for Friday, August 28, against the Philadelphia Eagles.
