Benson Boone was forced to postpone his Sacramento concert on Saturday, August 8, after struggling with voice problems just hours before he was set to take the stage at Golden 1 Center.
The 24-year-old shared the news on Instagram Stories, writing, “Sacramento, I’m so so sorry but I am not going to be able to perform tonight. I’ve been fighting like hell all afternoon to try and make my voice presentable for the show tonight and it’s not in a place to do so.”
He acknowledged the disappointment for fans who had traveled to attend, adding, “I know this is extremely disappointing especially for everyone who traveled to be here. Trust me I am disappointed too. I hate letting you guys down more than anything,” and promised the show would be rescheduled as soon as possible.
The venue confirmed the postponement was due to health reasons, with no new date announced yet.
Boone had performed in San Jose the night before without issue, and his tour continues with a two-night stop in Los Angeles on August 10 and 11 as part of his Wanted Man Tour, which is scheduled to wrap September 3 in Casper, Wyoming.
This isn’t the first time vocal issues have disrupted Boone’s touring schedule, he canceled a sold-out show in Birmingham, England, in November 2025 under similar circumstances, telling fans at the time he’d “tried everything” to recover his voice before the show.
