Prince Harry’s bid to return to the royal fold has sparked widespread reaction among Britons, with many calling for the Duke of Sussex to reconcile with his elder brother Prince William.
A survey suggests the public wants the brothers to end their long-running feud amid King Charles’ health concerns and ongoing family turmoil.
A recent YouGov poll of 2,128 British adults, in collaboration with The Times, shows that 58 per cent of those asked would like the brothers to reconcile.
Of those interviewed, 13 per cent said they do not want Harry and William to resolve their differences, while 28 per cent are unsure if they do.
Only 27 per cent hold a favourable opinion of the Sussexes’ upcoming return to the UK, while 46 per cent hold an unfavourable view of the move.
The same poll shows the Prince of Wales boasting a 76 per cent favourability rate, with his wife, Catherine, sitting at 74 per cent.
In contrast, just 31 per cent hold a favourable view of the Duke of Sussex, with his wife, Meghan, sitting on a measly 22 per cent.
They have reportedly not been on speaking term since the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.
Harry has publically expressed his anger and reservations with William, while the future monarch is said to be “deeply betrayed” by the Duke’s “unwise” move.
There are also reports that William is not imperessed of the idea that the monarch is givng Harry another chance to make amends.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are returning to the UK for an extended period of time. However, William is believed to have been left extremely unhappy of the move.
The two royals are expected to reunite for the 30th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death next year, though no plans have been confirmed to mark the occasion yet.
Within that, the most positive age group is 25-49 year-olds. The most against their return are 65-and-overs.
Meghan, Harry and their two children Prince Archie and Proincess Lilibet are due to land on British soil for the second time this summer later this week.
Additionally, 23 per cent of Britons interviewed think their return is good for the royal family. A whopping 44 per cent think it will be bad for the monarchy.
