Camila Cabello once dreamed of meeting Harry Styles because of a teenage crush and more than a decade later, she found herself watching him perform live from the crowd.
On Saturday, September 12, the Señoritahitmaker was spotted attending Night 9 of the former One Direction star’s 30-show Together, Together residency at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Fan account @hsdtogethertour shared a photo capturing the Fifth Harmony alum standing among concertgoers in a black dress as the arena glows purple around her.
The outing has an especially fun connection to Cabello’s past.
Long before she became a global pop star herself, the Shamelesssongstress was a huge One Direction fan.
She has famously recalled having a massive teenage crush on Styles. At just 15, she reportedly decided to audition for the U.S. version of The X Factorin 2012 partly because she believed it would give her a chance to cross paths with the Watermelon Sugar hitmaker.
Her teenage logic was simple, if she wanted to meet Styles, she needed to be where he might be.
While the romantic daydream obviously did not unfold as young Cabello imagined, the audition ended up changing her life in a completely different way.
She was placed into Fifth Harmony, the girl group that went on to become one of the biggest acts to emerge from the U.S. X Factor.
For the unversed, the Goldensinger auditioned for the U.K. X Factor in 2010 and was subsequently grouped with four other contestants to form One Direction.
Two years later, Cabello auditioned for the U.S. edition and was grouped with four other singers to create Fifth Harmony.
Both groups went on to finish third in their respective X Factor seasons before their members eventually embarked on hugely successful solo careers.
