Charlie Puth revealed a little-known truth about Justin Bieber and Kid Laroi’s hit Stay.
In an interview, the Attentionsinger reminded fans of his surprising connection to one of the biggest pop hits of the 2020s, revealing that he helped the Babyhitmaker and Laroi, whose real name is Charlton Kenneth Jeffrey Howard, write and produce STAY.
The revelation comes from a resurfaced clip from Puth’s 2023 appearance on Bobbi Althoff’s The Really Good Podcast.
When the host asked what other songs he had written that listeners might recognize, the 34-year-old musician casually replied, “I wrote Stayby Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber.”
When she questioned why he didn’t sing the song himself, the We Don’t Talk Anymoresinger explained that it wasn’t his musical session, it was LAROI’s.
“It was someone else’s session,” he said, emphasising that the song was being created for LAROI rather than his record.
The clip, which recently began circulating again on X, has sparked renewed interest in Puth’s behind-the-scenes songwriting credits.
Released in 2021, STAYbecame a massive global hit for LAROI and Justin, topping charts around the world.
