Chris Evans nearly gave Marvel fans more than they bargained for while discussing his reunion with Sebastian Stan in Avengers: Doomsday.
During his Chris Evans Live! panel at Fan Expo Boston on August 9, The Avengers star was asked about his favourite scenes with Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The question appeared to catch him in a particularly nostalgic mood, however the 45-year-old quickly realized he was getting dangerously close to revealing something Marvel would rather keep under wraps.
“We really love working together so much, and I guess I can’t give too much away… this is so tricky,” the Fantastic Four actor said before catching himself.
“I was about to start really talking,” he added. “You almost got me.”
That brief moment was enough to send fans into speculation mode.
Evans’ comments appear to confirm that his return as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday will once again bring him together with Stan’s Bucky Barnes.
While he stopped short of revealing what the pair actually get up to in the upcoming film, his genuine excitement about working with Stan again didn’t go unnoticed.
For the unversed, Evans and Stan first shared the screen in Captain America: The First Avenger, with Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes’ friendship eventually becoming one of the franchise’s most enduring relationships.
