Chris Hansen is not happy about the way he is shown in Robert Pattinson’s upcoming movie Primetime.
The former To Catch a Predator host is now thinking about taking legal action over the film, saying the way his story has been used feels “very exploitive” to him.
Hansen talked about the movie on The Dan Abrams Show and said a lawyer told him that he may have a “decent case.”
He, however, has not decided if he wants to go ahead with it. Hansen has not even watched the finished movie yet, which is one reason he is still unsure about what to do.
His biggest concern is the use of his name and the names of people connected to him.
He believes the movie uses real parts of his life while telling a fictional story.
Robert Pattinson plays a character based on Hansen in Primetime.
The movie is inspired by Hansen’s work on To Catch a Predator, the show that became known for catching adults who tried to meet children they had contacted online.
Hansen was invited to a private screening of the movie but did not get to see it because he refused to sign an agreement before entering.
He also worries that fighting the movie in public could give it even more attention.
