Imagine stopping to listen to a street musician performing one of Coldplay’s hits only to discover moments later that Chris Martin also joined the live rendition.
That unexpected moment unfolded in London, where the Coldplay frontman surprised a crowd by joining Korean street artist Hanny Junee for an impromptu performance of Viva La Vida.
A 37-second video shared online captures the extraordinary encounter at night in Trafalgar Square.
Junee can be seen playing guitar as Martin quietly steps in and begins singing the Coldplay classic into a microphone.
Interestingly, the crowd initially didn’t seem to realize who was standing in front of them.
As the performance continued, spectators gathered around the musicians, with several people pulling out their phones to record the unexpected collaboration.
One fan summed up the surreal nature of the encounter with a simple caption, “POV: you’re listening to a street singer singing Viva La Vida, and Chris Martin joins the performance… but no one notices until the end and everyone was in shock.”
The performance also captured the more spontaneous side of Martin, who has previously been known for stepping away from traditional concert settings and interacting with fans and street performers.
