Dakota Johnson and Machine Gun Kelly have suddenly given Hollywood something new to talk about — and Taylor Swift’s apartment may have played a surprisingly important part in it.
The Fifty Shadesactress and the “my ex’s best friend” singer were recently spotted together in New York City, including a private hangout at Swift’s apartment.
At first, the two looked like nothing more than friends. Now, a new report is making that theory a little harder to believe.
A source close to MGK told People magazine that the pair “have been hanging out and seeing each other under the radar for months now.”
Apparently, their connection goes back further than their recent NYC outing. The source noted Dakota and MGK had met before but really “hit it off” at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding in July.
“[They] started off as friends and were texting often, but now they’re spending more time together,” the insider said. “It’s a very new start, but they’re smitten with each other right now.”
And MGK isn’t exactly being subtle with his enthusiasm.
The source says he is “very into” Dakota and has reportedly been telling friends that she is “amazing.”
Still, don’t expect an official couple announcement just yet. Another source described their relationship as “super casual,” while the first source said, “They haven’t put a label on their relationship yet, they are just seeing where spending time together will take them.”
Dakota split from singer Role Model earlier this year, while MGK previously had an on-and-off relationship with Megan Fox, with whom he shares daughter Saga Blade.
So, friends… or something more? Hollywood may have to wait for that answer.
