For months, Dakota Johnson and Role Model kept fans guessing.
Now, one off-the-cuff comment may have done all the talking.
The NYLON Guyscover star, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, appeared to confirm his rumoured romance with the Splitsvilleactress while recalling how she ended up featuring on his upcoming album Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, due out August 7.
Explaining how Johnson’s voice made it onto the track Love I You, the 29-year-old singer admitted the idea came together unexpectedly after she visited the studio.
“I had a lot of names to pick from for that, and then Dakota came to the studio one day, and Mason [Stoops, guitarist and producer] was like, ‘Why don’t you do it?’”
Then came the line that has fans convinced the relationship rumours are finally confirmed.
“I was like, ‘Stop! We’re not mixing work and relationships.’”
According to Role Model, Johnson didn’t hesitate.
“She was like, ‘I’ll do it,’ and stood right up and got in the booth and knocked it out better than we could have imagined. So I was like, OK, if she’s down — I mean, that’s an amazing cameo.”
The candid remark marks the strongest indication yet that the pair are more than friends after months of speculation.
Dating rumours first surfaced late last year when the two were spotted looking cozy during a dinner outing, but neither publicly addressed the reports–until now.
Whether it was an accidental reveal or a deliberate soft launch, fans have already declared the mystery solved.
