Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was name-dropped during Tupac’s murder trial.
During day four of Duane “Keefe D” Davis’ trial on August 20, former LAPD detective Daryn Dupree testified about allegations that Sean “Diddy” Combs arranged a payment connected to Tupac’s 1996 killing.
But sources close to Combs told TMZthat the claims were “bogus” and strongly denied he played any role in the rapper’s death.
“Diddy had absolutely nothing to do with the Tupac murder,” the sources said. “He did not pull the trigger or set it up.”
The allegations resurfaced during Dupree’s testimony about his previous interviews with Davis while investigating the 1997 murder of Christopher “Biggie Smalls” Wallace.
According to Dupree, Davis denied involvement in Biggie’s killing but made serious claims about Tupac’s death. The former detective testified that Davis allegedly said Combs had arranged a payment connected to the shooting.
Davis allegedly expected the money through an associate named Zip, who was supposedly acting as an intermediary. Dupree also described an alleged conversation at Greenblatt’s Deli in Los Angeles, where Davis claimed Combs solicited Tupac’s murder.
The testimony further focused on the alleged payment never reaching Davis, with Dupree saying he wanted to confront the intermediary about the missing money.
Combs’ camp, however, rejected the claims outright and insisted he should not even be considered a useful witness in the case.
“It would be a waste of time if prosecutors ever called him as a witness,” the sources added.
Furthermore, Combs himself has repeatedly denied any involvement in Tupac’s murder.
