The husband of a US woman who recently went missing in the Caribbean island nation of Grenada has joined the authorities in believing that there was no foul play in her disappearance. The 44-year-old woman named Elizabeth “Liz” Waddell was on a three-week vacation with her pal when she mysteriously disappeared last Wednesday.
Waddell, a physical therapist by profession, was last seen swimming far from the shore. According to her husband, she communicated her confidence in swimming and also praised the beauty of the island.
Now after a week of exhaustive efforts in search for Waddell, her husband shared a statement on FindLiz.com, a site dedicated to the search of his wife, and thanked the authorities for their “compassionate and tireless” efforts to find his wife.
He wrote, “Despite our exhaustive efforts, we have not been successful. After careful and thoughtful consultation with family, local authorities, the U.S. Embassy, and others here in Grenada, I joined authorities in believing there was no foul play.”
The investigation hasn’t been declared over yet; however, the family and the officials involved in the search are expected to now return to the US.
Cailen Waddell also thanked the residents of Grenada for their love, thoughts, vibes, energy, and prayers in response to this heartbreaking situation.
Authorities have not announced any timeline for concluding the investigation.
