Ella Langley is still processing as her song, Choosin’ Texas, became the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.
The country star, 27, reacted to the news in an Instagram video posted on Tuesday, September 22, admitting, “I’m genuinely trying to find the words to help explain what’s going on in my brain today.”
Langley went on to express her gratitude to fans as she reflected on how the song, released back in November, has completely transformed her life.
“It’s changing my life. It’s changing the lives of the writers of this song. It’s changing the lives of my family and it is truly growing in an atmosphere for something I’m going to be able to do for the rest of my life,” she gushed. “It doesn’t feel like a real thing. It feels fake and somebody is going to come and be like, ‘Haha, we’re kidding the whole time!’”
Co-written by Langley, Luke Dick, Miranda Lambert, and Joybeth Taylor, Choosin’ Texas has now spent 23 weeks at No. 1, surpassing Carey’s All I Want for Christmas Is You, which previously held the record with 22 weeks atop the chart.
