Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark makes a shinning return after winning a fifth FIBA championship and leads her team to a 103-85 rout of the Toronto Tempo.
With Friday night victory, the Fever have cemented their eighth win in 10 games and a playoff spot.
The Fever guard, Kelsey Mitchell, scores 33 points, adding another feather to her cap by becoming the WNBA’s single-season highest scorer.
Mitchell now has racked up 1,034 points in this WNBA season, scoring past the reigning WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson’s record of 1,021 points set in 2024 while playing for the Las Vegas Aces.
On the other hand, the WNBA sensation Caitlin Clark scored 28 points and tied her season best with 14 assists.
Mitchell also posted at least 20 points for the 25th straight game, adding to her WNBA record. She shot 12 for 17 and went 7 for 11 from 3-point range.
Clark went 2 for 8 from distance for her 14th double-double in her first game since she returned from Berlin after winning gold at FIBA women’s World Cup.
The win has led the Fever to tie with the Atlanta Dream for the first place run in the Eastern Conference.
The Fever play their next game at home, hosting the Washington Mystics on Sunday, September 20.
