Prince Harry and Meghan Markle appear unlikely to be leaving their celebrity lifestyle behind.
The Sussexes are expected to make their home in the Cotswolds, with the area also believed to be where their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, will attend school.
After years in Montecito, the Sussexes could soon find themselves surrounded by a rather different landscape of stars.
The area is already home to an impressive mix of royalty, television personalities and international celebrities, including David and Victoria Beckham, Princess Beatrice, Kate Moss and Simon Cowell.
Meghan is said to be close to Ellen DeGeneres, who moved to the English countryside with her wife Portia de Rossi in 2024, while Simon Cowell is reportedly a friend of Harry’s.
“Their move would put them close to people they already know,” a source told HELLO!, that the couple have “lots of friends in the area”.
Before their move to California, the couple spent time in Oxfordshire while Frogmore Cottage was undergoing renovations.
Harry later wrote in his memoir Spare that the pair had considered moving there permanently.
“We loved it out there,” he wrote, praising the fresh air, green surroundings and, perhaps most importantly, the lack of photographers.
The area also holds special memories for Meghan. Her bachelorette party was reportedly held at Soho Farmhouse in Oxfordshire in 2018, while she has maintained a friendship with Soho House executive Markus Anderson.
The Sussexes are reportedly keeping their multimillion-dollar Montecito mansion despite their move across the Atlantic, leaving them with one foot in California and another in the English countryside.
Not everyone from their famous Montecito home is making the journey, however.
The family’s chickens are said to have remained behind in California, while their dogs, Pula and Mia, are reportedly crossing the Atlantic with Harry, Meghan and their children.
