Hilaria Baldwin opened up about early days of her relationship with Alec Baldwin, saying she refused to let him buy her expensive things.
The 42-year-old businesswoman wanted to be sure she was with him because of who he was, not because of his money.
Speaking on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio, Hilaria shared that people have called her a “gold digger” over the years but she said that it was never true.
The star’s wife, however, explained that when she first started dating Alec in 2011, he used to to buy her gifts but she always turned them down because she did not want money to become part of their relationship.
Hilaria went on to add that she wanted to know that she truly wanted to be with Alec.
She also continued saying that she never wanted to feel trapped or become a “prisoner” in the relationship because of expensive gifts.
The couple got married in 2012 and now have seven children together.
Hilaria even joked that people should stop calling her a gold digger because raising seven children is far from easy or cheap.
The actor’s wife also talked about recently spending time alone with the children as the trip made her realise they need to learn more everyday skills.
Hilaria, moreover, explained that she wants her children to know how to do simple jobs around the house so they can grow up to be independent.
