A two-year-old Houston toddler, who was hospitalised after drowning on Memorial Day, has died.
The family confirmed that Annelise Camp died on Monday, August 3, 2026.
Annelise’s family shared an update, stating, “Annelise is now with Jesus. While our hearts are broken, we trust in His perfect love, His faithfulness, and His promises.”
The tragic drowning incident took place on Memorial Day as the family was out to pay a visit to relatives when Annelise came back to the hotel pool after taking off her life jacket.
According to the first-hand account of her father, Johnston Camp, members of the family pulled her from the water and administered PR before emergency crews arrived.
Camp, while in an interview with Fox 26, said it took almost an hour before his daughter’s heartbeat began beating again.
Following the hospitalization of Annelise, the family found themselves at the center of a legal and medical battle as they sought to delay braiin death testing at a Houston facility while pushing for a transfer to another hospital.
Annelise was transferred to a medical facility in New Orleans in late June.
Family and friends will participate in a Celebration of Life in Houston, honouring Annelise on August 12, 2026.
