Fresh sexual assault allegations against Jared Leto have been followed by new claims about what it was allegedly like to work with the Oscar winner behind the scenes.
According to a new report by Page Six on July 29, a former colleague described the actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars frontman as a difficult presence after the release of the BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret.
“He’s not a good guy. There’s no soul behind his eyes,” the unnamed source, who claimed to have toured with Leto, told the outlet. “He was a horrible vibe while working with him and he made people uncomfortable. It was really hard to talk to him, if he even tried to talk to us.”
The insider further alleged that Leto expected assistants to carry out simple personal tasks, including holding open doors and carrying his cape. They also claimed, “People who have known him for years have also said that he is very problematic with women. Everyone in the music industry knows there was going to be a day of reckoning for him.”
The comments surfaced as the BBCdocumentary featured allegations from 10 women accusing Leto of sexual misconduct. Four women, identified by the pseudonyms “Clara,” “Alex,” “Isabel” and “Etta,” alleged incidents that they say occurred between 2002 and 2016, when they were teenagers. Additional former associates also claimed staff members were uncomfortable with Leto’s interactions with teenage girls.
Leto has strongly denied the allegations. In a statement to the Associated Press, he called the claims “absolutely and categorically false,” adding, “I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life.”
The documentary arrives less than a year after nine women made separate allegations of sexual impropriety against Leto in an Air Mail investigation, claims he denied at the time.
