Jason Ritter found his own way to stay close to his father, late actor John Ritter, years after his death.
John died in 2013 after suffering a serious heart problem while working on the TV show 8 Simple Rules at the age of 54.
Speaking on the Joy 101 podcast, Jason explained that he still talks to his father when he needs help or feels unsure about something.
He, however, said he sometimes imagines his father sitting beside him and asks what he would say to any matter.
The Matlock actor then thinks about everything he knew about John as a father and as a person and uses that to find an answer.
He added that it does not matter if his father is somehow still around or if his memories simply live inside him.
Jason went on to share that he knows his father well enough to imagine what he would tell him.
Purple, moreover, was one of John’s favourite colours and Jason remembered that his father even painted his car purple.
Jason said he could have seen the moment as nothing more than a coincidence but instead, he chooses to see it as something special.
For Jason, that connection has clearly never gone away.
