Jaxson Dart suffered an injury scare just four minutes into the Giants-Rams matchup on Monday Night Football.
After Dart was hit hard from both sides by Byron Young and Josiah Stewart, he was seen clutching his left knee on the turf.
It appeared that Dart and Young collided knees as the Giants quarterback threw a deep pass down the field, and Theo Johnson was unable to complete the catch.
Dart walked off the field straight into the medical tent, where he was examined for concussion.
The very next was a punt, but Dart was replaced by Jameis Winston to begin the next possession.
The moment Winston took the field, Dart was carted off into the tunnel.
The Giants first said he was questionable to return because of a knee injury but later officially ruled him out in the third quarter.
Reports suggest Dart sustained a sprained MCL after taking a hard hit on his left knee.
X-rays were negative, with Giants QB set to undergo an MRI on Tuesday, September 22, per an ESPN report.
Commenting on Dart’s injury, Giants head coach John Harbaugh said, “We’ll know more (Tuesday). We’ll get an MRI and have a real good feel for it.”
Winston came in place for Dart and recorded 11-of-27 for 111 yards with an interception.
The Giants’ offense looked nothing like it did in last week’s win over the Cowboys, which resulted in a 28-6 loss to the Rams at SoFi Stadium, Inglewood.
