Jenelle Evans is telling fans she’s finally, truly done with ex David Eason, after briefly letting him back into her life amid an already difficult stretch health-wise.
In a TikTok video posted Wednesday, September 9, the 34-year-old Teen Mom 2star said she felt she owed her followers an explanation given how open she’s historically been about her relationship with Eason, 38.
“The topic of David. Just think this needs to be addressed to all of my fans because I’ve just been so transparent with you guys over the years,” she said.
“I’m just kinda silent lately because of my health issues. Also, my mental struggles, what I’ve been going through lately, it’s been really, really tough.”
Evans confirmed she and Eason had been co-parenting their 9-year-old daughter, Ensley, for months, including allowing him one-on-one visits so the two could spend time together.
She acknowledged that fans had voiced concern about her giving him another chance given their history, the two were on and off from 2015 until she filed for separation in 2024, and described how the reconciliation initially seemed promising before quickly souring.
“Everything was nice at first, [he was] very sweet and caring,” she said. “He was trying to hold my hand and touch me a lot. That all went away within a month.”
She said familiar warning signs soon resurfaced, including name-calling whenever he grew frustrated.
“That was the s*** I was dealing with for nine years and I refuse to still put up with it now,” she said. “I don’t know if he was being manic at some points but it showed me a lot of red flags I’ve recognized for years.”
Evans described her breaking point as a specific incident involving their daughter, alleging Eason made insulting remarks to Ensley before school one morning and continued in the car until Evans turned around to reassure her daughter that she was “beautiful, gorgeous and smart.”
She said she told Eason to leave her house, prompting him to turn the car around and demand she drive the kids to school herself.
“I said, ‘I can’t even walk or drive because I’m in pain.’ … He drove us home,” she recalled.
Once back at the house, she alleged he began packing his belongings and going through her purse. “Since there is a no-contact order between us, I did threaten to call the police,” she said, adding that he left immediately, leaving his belongings behind and never asking for them back.
“I say all this because he knew what I was going through with my health and [he] still acted this way,” she said.
Evans tied the situation to her broader health struggles, having confirmed earlier in the week that she underwent knee surgery in April and was subsequently diagnosed with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), a chronic pain condition that can develop in a limb following surgery.
“I was seeing everything happen all over again [with Eason] before my f***ing eyes,” she said. “I was like, I’m not doing this anymore and for [him] to treat me this way while I’m … the downest I’ve ever been in my life?”
Reflecting on her pattern of giving exes repeated chances, Evans said she recognizes it as a habit she’s trying to break.
“I’m always a believer of second chances, unfortunately,” she said. “I do that with my exes. That’s my track record. Everybody knows that. This time, at least it only took a few months to see the dramatic change in his behaviour. Ladies, don’t put up with that.”
She also accused Eason of attempting to charge $3,000 to her credit card for a boat-docking fee after relocating from Florida back to North Carolina, saying the bank ultimately refunded the charge.
She encouraged others in similar situations to leave when they’re ready: “I know it’s scary to be alone. One day, you’ll just have to wake up and have that epiphany. Nobody can tell you to leave him. You have to make that decision yourself and it’s very hard.”
Evans said she’s working on breaking these patterns with the help of a therapist.
“We agree that I have a lot of trauma that’s happened that I have not really acknowledged,” she said. “We are working on that!” She closed the video by confirming she’s blocked Eason and hadn’t spoken to him in at least two weeks.
