Joey King is sharing major takeaway after working with globally renowned pop star Taylor Swift.
The Kissing Boothstar has shared the screen with the 14-time Grammy winner not once, but twice.
And while Swift, 36, has built a global empire with her music, King, 27, is shining a spotlight on a different talent: her skills as a director.
During a recent conversation for Cosmopolitan’s “Cosmo Goes Deep,” A Family Affairactress was asked to name three things she had learned from being in Swift’s music videos.
Her answer quickly turned into an unexpected tribute to Travis Kelce’s wife’s work behind the camera.
“Taylor Swift is a fabulous director,” she said, before admitting that she did not realize just how hands-on the singer was with her music videos.
“Cause she directs her own music videos, all of them for the most part. I didn’t know that,” King, who can’t get enough of the Opalitehitmaker’s directorial talent, added. “Yeah, she’s amazing.”
For the unversed, the Practical Magic 2actress has actually shared the screen with the Eras Tour performer in two music videos spanning more than a decade.
Her first appearance came in Swift’s 2011 video for Mean, when King was just a child. She appeared sitting in the balcony of a theater, dressed in a flapper-style outfit.
More than a decade later, the two reunited for I Can See You (Taylor’s Version) (From The Vault)in 2023. This time, King’s role was considerably bigger.
She starred alongside Taylor Lautner and Presley Cash as part of a museum-heist team attempting to rescue Swift from a vault.
That second collaboration also gave King a closer look at Swift’s filmmaking ambitions.
Notably, The Life of a Showgirlmaker has increasingly expanded her role behind the camera, taking on greater creative control over her visual projects and directing her own music videos.
