Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK has caught the Royal Household by surprise as report claim that the monarch was only made aware of it on Sunday.
Despite the suddenness of the announcement, according a report by DailyMail, King Charles is “welcoming” the decision made by Harry and Meghan to return to the UK.
The update came just a day after Queen Camilla got candid about the monarch’s cancer diagnosis and how the family has been coping with it.
And while the King is happy to have his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, closer to him, the report claimed that there will be “no alteration” in the ‘gentleman’s agreement’ that was made at Sandringham.
Sources have claimed that there will be “no half-in, half out” option made available to them.
The Sussexes had only been on British soil last month and reunited with the King and Queen Camilla in a private meeting at Highgrove House. Buckingham Palace had only acknowledged the meeting and stressed that no further details would be made public.
Hence, it is unlikely to confirm if the topic came up six weeks ago during the reunion. Although, sources insist that the news had been a surprise for the monarch.
Moreover, Harry and Meghan have maintained that they will remain non-working royals and will be living at their own private residence without any taxpayer funds.
