The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh have not pressured their children into pursuing a royal position in the family but reports have claimed that Lady Louise and James could have been a valuable addition to the working royals.
While Lady Louise has strictly made her intentions clear about not being a working royal, the Earl of Wessex have taken a different, albeit humble, approach to the matter.
According to a new report by Matt Wilkinson, James had taken on special role on King Charles’s estate, Sandringham. The monarch’s nephew is unafraid of getting his hands dirty as he is working as a new farmhand on the property.
As most 18-year-olds get summer jobs, James has chosen to drive around driving tractors to earn some money ahead of his A-level results next week.
“The King is known for his fondness of the countryside and he couldn’t be prouder knowing the younger royals share his love,” an estate worker told The Sun.
“Everyone is so used to only seeing James smartly turned out with his family at functions at Christmas and Easter so I had to do a double take,” they shared.
“He might be the King’s nephew but he is more than happy to get his hands dirty and muck in.”
They explained that driving tractors around Sandringham is “not an easy task and “it can mean long hours”. However, it is teaching James “good work ethic at a young age” which is always helpful.
