The high-profile murder trial of Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mother who killed her three young children by strangling them to death in 2023, enters its final phase.
Jurors are prepared to hear closing arguments and begin deliberations on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The 36-year-old has pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity, with her defense team arguing that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, a severe mental health condition.
Prosecutors, however, maintained the narrative that Clancy acted “intentionally, rationally, and swiftly” to kill her children, presenting testimony from more than 70 witnesses over several weeks.
How to watch live trial
Viewers can watch the live trial via multiple options, including a livestream of Court TV that offers gavel-to-gavel coverage via its official website and YouTube channel. Moreover, major news outlets are also offering livestreams on their YouTube channels.
Judge William Sullivan has signaled that jurors may also consider lesser manslaughter charges alongside the murder counts, giving the jury additional options during deliberations.
The trial has received much media coverage, with the supporters queuing outside the Plymouth courthouse even before 2 a.m. Thursday to get seats. They were dressed in pink in favor of Clancy.
Upon being found guilty of first-degree murder, Clancy will be jailed for life. The deliberation is set to commence after the conclusion of the closing arguments. It begins at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
