Louis Tomlinson says he spent years searching for the same sense of camaraderie he experienced in One Direction — and he finally found it again on his How Did We End Up Here? World Tour.
“Since One Direction, I’ve been very much chasing the idea of camaraderie, shared experience, and all those kind of things,” the 34-year-old singer admitted while reflecting on the tour, which began in March and runs through October.
“I’ve been touring with these boys now for six years,” he continued, referring to his touring band. “Going through this craziness with what feels like a family and what feels like proper mates, I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Tomlinson first rose to global fame in 2010 as a member of One Direction alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and the late Liam Payne. After the band went on hiatus in 2015, each member launched a solo career, with Tomlinson continuing to build his own loyal fanbase on the road.
The singer has also been reflecting on the group’s legacy. Last week, as One Direction marked its 16th anniversary on July 23, Tomlinson celebrated the milestone during his penultimate North American show in Orlando, taking a moment to honour the band that launched his career.
He later shared a list of his favorite One Direction songs while also remembering his “brother” Liam Payne, who passed away in October 2024.
