Mark Ruffalo is not holding back.
The actor ignited fresh political debate after taking aim at Senator John Fetterman over his unwavering support for Israel, just hours after the Pennsylvania Democrat’s tense exchange with Jon Stewart went viral.
Reacting on X, Ruffalo argued that Fetterman’s position makes him unfit to represent American voters.
“Here’s the problem. When you put another country above the USA, when you are in the U.S. government, no matter what you say, you aren’t working for the American people,” Ruffalo wrote.
“Go be a lobbyist. Register as a lobbyist for a foreign government and make your living that way, but don’t take a paycheck from the U.S. taxpayer. Get out of representing the people of the USA.”
The comments followed Fetterman’s appearance on The Weekly Show, where Stewart questioned why Israel would be his “red line” for remaining in the Democratic Party.
“So, for you, you could agree with them 90%, but Israel is the red line,” Stewart asked.
“Absolutely. I can’t ever turn my back to Israel after where it’s at,” Fetterman replied.
Stewart pushed back, saying, “But that is not our country,” before arguing that policy disagreements should not outweigh every other issue facing Americans.
“I’m assuming there’s probably things in the Democratic platform that you disagree with,” Stewart said.
“But you don’t disavow the entire thing. You’re literally saying, ‘We can all have discussions – except when it comes to Israel.’ Which is not America.”
With Ruffalo jumping into the conversation, the interview has quickly evolved into one of the week’s most talked-about political clashes, fueling another heated debate over party loyalty, foreign policy and where elected officials should draw their lines.
