A deeply personal gift from Meghan Markle to Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, has resurfaced in an unexpected place with a staggering £20,000 price tag attached.
According to MailOnline, a first-edition copy of Meghan’s children’s book, The Bench, has appeared for sale on eBay, accompanied by what the seller claims is a handwritten dedication from the Duchess of Sussex to the royal couple.
The listing has sparked questions about how the book came to be offered for sale, including whether it could have been passed on by its original recipients.
However, there is no confirmed evidence that Eugenie or Jack were responsible for the listing, and the note’s authenticity has not been independently verified.
Meghan published The Bench in 2021, marking her debut as a children’s author. Inspired by the relationship between fathers and sons, the book explores the special bond between a parent and child.
According to the seller, this particular copy was gifted to Eugenie and Jack following the birth of their first child, August, in February 2021.
The inscription appears to be addressed to the couple using Eugenie’s family nickname, ‘Eug’, and refers to the place where Meghan wrote the poem that inspired the book.
It reportedly reads: “Dear Eug & Jack, Celebrating the special bond between father and son.
I wrote this poem at Frogmore – I hope that Eug, you witness the same love there with your guys. All love, Meghan.”
