Meghan Markle’s potential role in Guy Ritchie’s The Gentleman had sparked quite a lot of curiosity following mixed reports from different sources.
It was revealed by former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown that Meghan had been in talks to be in the hit Netflix show’s third season. However, later she shared that due to the backlash the offer has been withdrawn.
Although no official sources confirmed nor denied the claims. Now, after days of speculation surrounding the role, a Netflix executive had broken their silence on the matter.
Manda Levin, the scripted chief in the UK for the streaming giant, was asked during the Edinburgh TV Festival on Wednesday, whether the Duchess of Sussex will appear in The Gentlemen.
“All bets are off,” she replied cryptically.
Even though the answer does not depict a clear picture, the possibility of Meghan joining Season 3 still looms large.
The As Ever founder had ended her partnership with the streamer when it came to her lifestyle brand, but she and Prince Harry are still in a flexible contract with them.
Moreover, the Netflix executive’s diplomatic response is a major sign that the deal is absolutely possible. It also makes sense since the show is filmed in the UK and Meghan would bring more viewers after the buzz.
