Nigella Lawson revealed why she believes her skin still looks youthful, saying the secret is much simpler than many people think.
The TV chef said she has never had Botox or fillers. Instead, she believes staying away from the sun and accepting herself have helped her over the years.
Speaking to The Mirror, Nigella said she is “allergic to the sun” which means she avoids being out in direct sunlight for most of her life.
The TV star also believes good genes have played a big part.
“I’m a great believer in butter. I just eat what I want. I enjoy life but also, I know myself. I’m not punishing myself trying to look like a model,” she said.
Nigella added, “I think skin is genetic, really. I’m also allergic to the sun so I don’t go into the sun and that makes a difference.
It’s been that way my whole life but it’s got worse. I just can’t go in it. It’s a bore, actually.”
The 66-year-old also added that she has no plans to get cosmetic treatments.
“Having a bit of fat on the face helps. I don’t do filler or anything like that. Cosmetic work is a tyranny. I just think there’s no point,” she explained.
Nigella also spoke about getting older, saying that she feels lucky to grow old after losing her mother, sister and first husband to cancer.
“It would be immoral if I complained about ageing,” she said. “Life is precious.”
