Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam has developed a fever, with the team’s manager confirming to Truth Wire that the batter had informed him about his condition.

Team manager Naveed Akram Cheema, when contacted regarding Babar’s health, confirmed the information but said there was no need to panic or be concerned.

Cheema said Babar was fit and there was no reason for concern over the fever, adding that he was expected to recover soon.

The development comes as the Pakistan team remains under pressure following two crushing defeats at the hands of England.

Babar was dismissed for 8 and 6 in the last match, while the Pakistan Cricket Board has also taken major decisions following the defeat, including sending the head coach and seven players back to Pakistan.

Pakistan lost the first Test against England by an innings and 103 runs and the second by 194 runs to go 2-0 down in the three-match series, failing to score more than 200 in all four innings.
