Pamela Anderson is getting candid as Fox’s new Baywatch reboot moves forward without her.
Speaking to Deadlinein a new interview published Friday, July 24, the 59-year-old actress revealed she the network did not approach her regarding the reboot — not that she had any plans to revisit her breakout role in the first place.
“No one’s reached out to me. I don’t know much about it,” she said.
Anderson reflected fondly on her years playing lifeguard C.J. Parker from 1992 to 1997, acknowledging that Baywatchgave her worldwide recognition.
“It was a great job, and I loved going to work every day on the beach,” she recalled. “I would have been there anyway. At the time, it taught me a lot, and it gave me worldwide exposure. Everything I’ve done has led me to here, which is a blessing. But I have no plans of going back to Baywatch.”
Although she briefly returned for a cameo in the 2017 film reboot with Dwyane Johnson and Zac Efron, Anderson says she’s focused on exploring new creative opportunities.
“I get that there’s a lot of really great TV out there right now, but I’ve already done that. Now is my time to really play with different characters,” she explained. “I don’t want to just fill my time until the end of the year. I have options, and some things I’m thinking about, including some theatre again. I want to make really bold choices. I want to surprise people. I want to surprise myself. And so I’m trying to do things I haven’t done in the past.”
