Prince Edward was honoured with a memorable return to Production Park in West Yorkshire, where the Duke of Edinburgh championed inclusion and met the next generation of creative talent during a special industry event.
The Duke, who officially opened the innovative creative campus more than 20 years ago, returned as Royal Patron of the Production Guild UK to attend its Inclusive Best Practice Day.
The visit marked a full-circle moment and how the site has grown into one of the UK’s leading hubs for the live events, film and television industries.
During the engagement, he toured Production Park’s world-class facilities before meeting Production Guild UK members, industry leaders and students from the Academy of Live Technology.
He spent time listening to their experiences and discussing how greater accessibility, diversity and representation can help shape the future of the creative industries.
The Duke also spoke about the importance of building a sector where everyone feels welcomed and valued, reinforcing the message that inclusion should be embedded in every stage of the industry – from recruitment and training to career progression and leadership.
Production Guild UK described the royal visit as “a moment we will not forget,” praising the Duke for taking the time to engage with professionals and aspiring creatives alike.
Organisers said his support reinforced the importance of creating opportunities for people from all backgrounds to succeed in the industry.
